I'm in electrical engineering, and I don't need it, but I do like history.. should I take it?

If you can do it as an elective, why not? Sad to say I don't have a girlfriend, but I'm taking a crafts class with my best friend for an elective credit and easy 'A'.

...I'm a business student.

I took chemistry in college w/ some girl only-friends/coworkers. We spent so much time together that summer, and sad to say, it was almost all studying. Occasionally we'd all hang out and catch a movie or dinner or SNL or something. That was such a tough class and a long summer. I've never spent so much time together with the same people (work, school, and social). Yet it's been years since I've heard from either of them. Funny how life works.

We all spent roughly the same amount of time studying and I got a C while they got A's. Didn't bother me though, chemistry is not my best subject. Looking back, I'd do it again. Was a lot of fun (even though I hated the class) and I don't think I woulda pulled it off w/o their help. I can't deal with all the memorization but was good at the math, they were better at the memorization and figured out the math.

Not that that means anything, just thought I'd share.

I say go for it.
