Last night while we were out for dinner, the song "Truly, madly, Deeply" by Savage Garden came on and I commented that I really liked the song.

She told me it was one of her top 3 favorite songs.

She also TOLD me that at some point I HAVE to sing this song to her :Q

I can't sing

Well, if you tell her that SHE has to do something after that and agrees then it's all good I imagine, right? ;)

Do it for her, don't be selfish. Trust me, you'll get something in return.

Unless you're singing is REALLY bad.

In which case she may dump you, and laugh with her friends behind your back.

Yep, what LoKe said. It's worth the 3 minutes of embarrassment for all the *ahem* "benefits" you'll get in return.

She won't dump you for being really bad. If she insisted you do it, she wants it done no matter what. Sounds like she's a fun enougb person to let you get away with sucking. Maybe you'll let her get away with sucking aswell.

It's easy if you don't make a big deal out of it.

I randomly grab my guitar and will sing as i'm carrying on a conversation with my girlfriend and she just melts.

I really WANT to sing to her, but I want to do it well, not half assed.

Right now I'm looking for vocal coaches. I'd like to get good, the problem is, I don't know anything about music theory, instruments, notes, singing, etc... NOTHING. I think this is gonna be an uphill battle. Kinda like climbing a vertical wall, tilted 10 degrees from the vertical plane...

You don't need to do it well, you just need to try. She'll appreciate it. Of course these days my gf generally appreciates it more when I stop singing.

I know I don't need to do it well. I want to do it well. I've always liked music and singing, but I was an idiot in school and never listened or paid attention. I don't know ANYTHING about music and now I want to learn.

You're reading way too much into it.
