She was following me and i ran an orange.. she followed me and ended up getting a ticket.. i feel terrible.. how does it work.. with tickets and insurance.. if u don't get any points taken off ur driving record.. does ur insurance still go up?? it suckes cause she just got one about 2 months ago.. :( but the cop said its my fault and that he would be fine with her pleading guilty to something that wouldn't make her get any points.. just would make her pay the fine.. so if i pay for this ticket will she be in the clear if 0 points are deducted from her record??

It's not your fault. Not like you had a gun to her head, she could easily have stopped and waited for the light.

Yeah... if the cop will let her plead it down to a non-moving violation (something with 0 points), then most likely it won't count against her insurance-wise.

What? It was still her fault for running a (presumably) red light.

What happens when I'm following someone, or someone's following me, is that if someone gets stuck at a light the other person just pulls to the side of the road up ahead and waits.

You should have slowed down at the yellow light, but it's not your fault she ran the red light.

Yeah man, are you from Seattle or something? Peopl in Seattle don't know how to lead. You're always supposed to stop if its going to turn red, and you pull over if they get stopped.

most insurance companies wont pick up on points, unless she is in an accident.

Well... it snowed here the day before.. and the roads were extremely icy.. we were driving home from the mall and both of us slipped on this one ice patch.. we called eachother saying that we shoudl drive careful.. so we were driving mainly looking at the ground.. the light was situated behind a huge building on a bend.. so by the time i saw it it was yellow and i was about 10 feet from it.. sure i could have slammed on teh breaks but i was scared that my gf would run into me.. so i just ran it cause i thought it would be ok.. she didn't even know that there was a light till the cop stopped her.. well it sucks.. i got out of the car and told the guy it was my fault.. and to give me the ticket.. but he started screaming at me to get my ass back in teh car.. and told me that he'll give me oen too then.. so i got pissed and started fighting with him.. then his back up came and started walking towards me.. so i got scared and got in the car.. :) but my gf talked the first one out of giving me a ticket.. that sucks.. i'm jsut scared about her insurance...

It is his fault. Not legally of course, but this is his girlfriend we are talking about.

In CA. you can take traffic school so the point will not be added to your record only if you haven't taken it in the previous 18 months. Your insurance will probably increase with or without the point because the insurance company looks at it differently.

Either way...you suck at leading.

I bolded the dumb sh!t you did. Here's a breakdown of all the things I'd drill you for if I were a mean cop having a bad day.

- Talking on a cellphone while driving
- Not paying attention to the entire road
- Going too fast around a blind corner
- Running the yellow
- Getting out of your car when a cop pulls you over (are you trying to get shot? keep your stupid ass IN THE CAR unless they ask you to step out)
- Arguing ("fighting") with a cop
- Not getting back in the damn car when he told you to
