My Geforce2 mx 400 pci has a conflict with the motherboard?

I put a Geforce2 mx 400 pic into my intel 440zx based motherboard and i've tried everything from bios settings to checking irqs, but for some reason after about 3-4 minutes of use (its pretty consistent) my display looks like a bad tv station in the bios and in windows 2000 it crashes and reboots. Anybody have similar problems. I also know that its not the power supply because 1.) Its practically brand new and 2.) I tried a geforce4 ti 4200 in my computer and it works just fine. Additionally the gf2 mx 400 is not bad because it works fine in another computer. I'm really desperate now, because i've been stuck using a voodoo3 2000 pci for like 3 years now. I appreciate your comments.

I agree. This sounds like a heat problem with the system. Or it could be a problem with your RAM (and/or a combination of both). If you have any spare RAM laying around, try swapping it out (since that is the cheapest test). If that doesn't do anything, look to get another fan in your computer case for more air flow. You should also check to make sure the fan on the video card is still working (I believe that card has an active fan... can't remember, but I know my old GeForce 256 has a fan).

Pull out all your pci devices and try running with just the video and ram. Could be a hardware conflict with another device that doesn't effect the GF4 Ti4200.
