I just got my hands on a Geforce 2 mx 400 pci and decided i'd install it instead of my voodoo3 2000 pci. The first thing i noticed was that the bios menus and anything else that is drawn using cells is really SLOW. Then once i'm booted into windows 2000 it works fine for about 3-4 minutes and then just crashes and reboots. It really seemed to me like it was an irq conflict, but I've checked the pci bus listing at start-up and there are no irq conflicts. I really have no idea exactly what the problem is, other than that it must be related to the motherboard, because the card works perfectly fine in other computers. Does anyone have any ideas or anything that i could try?

cheers

If you are using 2000, the chances if it being an IRQ conflict is pretty small. What mobo do you use? I would go to the forums for the video card mfg. and see if you can see any posts about complaining about incompatibilities with the same setup as you. I have run into problems like that with both video and sound cards.

The other explanation could be that the card is on good.

Do yourself a favor and get a GeForce 4 4200 of you can afford it... They are pretty cheap now.
