I just bought a new PC, it's a AMD athlon t-bird 900mhz
with 256 megs of sd-ram. The video card is a TNT2 model 64
i know, it sucks, but anyways... Everything was fine until i
bought a game, motocross madness its a cheap game so i thought it would run great.

Sometimes it runs at like 100 frames per second and other
times it slows to like 20 without warning.

This seems to be affecting other games too notably my
GTA2, Crimson skies, Quake 3, Diablo 2 since i bought moto madness.

I thought it was a virus, but how the hell could an original game have a virus... im angry, i did a thorough scan disc, de-fragged
my hard-drive and un-installed the game. I've run out of ideas. Maybe the game changed my driver setting somehow. I set the setting to max performance, lowest image quality but it still happens.

Now i ask you, would buying a new video card solve my problem?
I've got my eyes ont he radeon 64 meg ddr but im not sure.

It sux to play laggy gamez. Would an Geforce 2 MX be better than a radeon or perhaps a voodoo 5 agp 5500?

I need some usefull adive to solve my problem.

Thanks. Please reply!

Have you ever done a format of your hard drive? Try that, and be sure to install the latest NVIDIA reference drivers. A new video card would also improve your game performance quite a bit, since what you have now is a dog.

In all honesty I think your video card is being totally killed by your lightning fast CPU.
In your situation I'd pair up that CPU with a GF2 GTS or a Radeon DDR (preferably the 64 MB versions).
