Its true, the damn thing tried to kill me, sneaky bastard, lulled me into a false sense of security by laying low for 35 years and then BOOM!!

Actually I had been having what I thought were back spasms about once a month for the last four months, the pain was always in the same place in my back and felt like a severe muscle cramp, and they always went away after a few hours, until this past saturday night/sunday morning that is

just after midnight saturday

It started out the same as usual, pain in my back, no biggie I thought, it will go away in a couple of hours

around eight a.m. sunday

and it did, but only for an hour or two and then it was back, and it brought friends! the pain was now consuming my chest and ribcage area on my right side

on and off throughout the day on sunday until about six a.m. monday morning when it got serious, I made a doctors appointment, but it was not until two p.m.

around ten a.m. monday I got my wife to take me to an urgent care center, I was in bad shape, I was pale and sweating and holding my chest, they thought I was having a heart attack (at least I didnt have to wait in line :))

They poked and probed and took xrays and told me to go to the emergency room

I dont remember much after that, lights flashing by on the ceiling as I was wheeled down a hallway, a doctor saying something about laporoscopy may not be possible because of gangrene, a lady saying "you are going to start feeling a little different" :) thats the last thing I remember until I woke up

They did do it laporoscopically (<<word?) and they said it was gangreneous too :( and that it broke on the way out so they had to keep me for an extra day to pump me full of antibiotics

So, now I have a half shaved chest/stomach with four incisions about an inch to an inch and a half long with these nasty looking metal staples holding them closed.

On the plus side, I got a whole bottle of these neat little blue pills

Mine felt like someone had inflated a basketball under my breastplate.

Back in '89 when they removed my gall bladder, I ended up with a 5" long scar.

Even though I am still in some pain now, it is nothing compared to what it felt like before the surgery.

I got one of those scars when they took my appendix out in 1980

I had mine removed 2 years ago. I was originally being treated for an ulcer. So I went through these attacks for like 6 months before it was finally diagnosed correctly. The pain was just awful :frown:

<< dam(they are blue? viagra?) >>

No, they are percoset

breakit23, you are right, I wish I had, when it started out a few months ago I really thought it was a muscle thing :(

Mrs AntiSocial Virge, was your pain in your back? mine was in the center of the right side of my back each time until this last episode when it became critical.

Another note, I love spicy food, jalepenos, tabasco, red hot chinese dishes, the doctor said that is what set off this last attack, I ate two different spicy dishes earlier that saturday :(

My buddy just had his gall bladder taken out a week ago. He'd had his spleen out when he was 12 or so, and has like a 6 inch scar down his breast bone. The doctors told him he'd have to have it out eventually because he didn't have his spleen. They reused the scar and then put 2 small holes in his side. They deflated it then removed it. It looks like someone stuck him with a small pitchfork. :)

late.

No, my pain was right at my diaphragm, like my heart and lungs were seizing. I'm short, so my middle is really squished together, and the incompetent doctors figured that since the pain was near the end of my esophagus, it must be an ulcer.

My sisters and my older brother had their gall bladders removed all around the same age...
When mine started acting up, I went to my chiropractor. He gave me a holistic treatment called a Liver and Gall Bladder flush. After the treatment, I passed gallstones as big as grapes (nice and green, too--yumm). Never had problems with gall bladder since (12 years). I asked him why my doctor would not recommend this flush, and the chiro told me that this treatment cost about 10 bucks, and the operation would generate 7,000 for the hospital...which made perfect sense for the doctor.

If yours had gone to gangrene, no flush would help...but if anyone is feeling that kind of pain, go to a chiro and ask for the flush...it really works.

Wow, welcome back dude!

On a side note, you "FrankenCracker" story made me name my similar machine (though not nearly as interesting as yours) "AcerStein" LOL!

Take care with those pills Slacker.

Man I'd let insurance pick up the tab and go for surgery, it sounds less painful hehe.

Do you pass gall stones out of your schlong? Or is that just kidney stones? Just thinking about it gives me pain! :Q
