The DA is asking to present it to the court again. What the heck is that about?

Pretrial diversion was given to them because they had not gotten in trouble before.
The pretrial diversion gives them 90 days to stay out of trouble and fines.
DA is asking to present back to court to get them even worse punishment, can they do that??

I guess since he never went to court, it can't be double jeopardy. But that is fvcking lame dude. Death to that DA. I'm sure he drank, smoked pot, rolled X, sniffed blow, tripped shrooms.

the DA can pretty much do whatever they want. by the way, the DA will only bring stuff to trial if they think they can win. so the DA suspects the judge is going to lean his way on this case.

edit: replace suspects with KNOWS

Well I got arrested 2 times for under-age consumption. First time was in the NorthWest suburbs of Chicago. I got 6 months probation, had to pay a fine, and attend some class about "making the right choices." Not a big deal. After all was completed, it was erased from my record. The second time was at a bar in Chicago. I got arrested for being under-age, and for a fake id. Went to my court date, and all charges were dropped. The point I'm making is, at least in Chicago, it's a slap on the wrist. Probation, maybe some fines, not a big deal.

Good Luck for your Friends,

What else can or would they do?

I think a lawyer was saying something about the DA's decision on the punishment.
They thought that the punishment they gave wasn't enough, but they THEMSELVES gave the
punishment. He may also have to pay court costs again because of the morons.

As I've said before, Americans are Nazis when it comes to alcohol. I mean seriously, 21 years old?!?! Who the hell do they think they're kidding?

The district attorney probably needs to keep his conviction rate up so he can get reelected.

A lifetime full of American laws is better then one day spent in Canada.

eh? I don't follow... You do realize that Canadians laws are very similar to American laws in most regards, right?

Did they do the pretrial diversion? Or did they skip out on it thinking no one would check up on them?
