A group from Cal Poly went and he got picked to go down second. Well fifth if you count the first four separately.

He missed the first one, then got the second. Gets on stage, is DYING of excitement, then they bring out the game and it's High/Low or something like that where each number in the price is either higher or lower than the one given.

Bob then proceeds to hype up the prize like it's a new car, as always, and brings out a BRAND NEW PIANO!

The game is explained and the whole time my friend is thinking about it and already knows what to do. He has 30 seconds to choose.

GO! TICK TICK TICK TICK DONE. FOUR SECONDS. He gets it right in four seconds and hits the buzzer.

Goes to the wheel, wins that by like 5 or 10 cents. Goes to the showcase as the high winner, bids on the first showcase and gets within 3000 bucks, the other lady was within 5000.

He wins the piano, a 24 ft Fleetwood trailor, and 2 4000 dollar trips to chicago and aspen.

We both go to CP from Alaska, I know him from high school.

It airs february 7th, I can't wait to see!

They are chosen randomly by the producer before the show starts. If you get a group of 20 or 30 people ( don't quote me on that, I know it's some certain number) one person is guarenteed to go down. The group he went in had enough to qualify.

You just gave away the show. Didnt your buddy have to sign a NDA?

Nah, I don't think so. First off this will increase the number of viewers by me, my friends, my parents, his parents, people that wouldn't normally watch.

I think that would be gay if they all came back from LA and couldn't say what happened.

I have always been curious about the tax issues when you win all that stuff. Did he say exactly what he will have to do about taxes?

You have to pay taxes on the retail value of the merchandise.

Congrats to your friend. I used to watch that show all the time in college as it was always on right around the time I woke up. Recently I took my old Pinnacle TV tuner and brought it to the office, hooked it up to my spare system in my office and now I watch that show everyday in the background while I'm working. Has the show aired yet (may have said that earlier in the thread and I missed it)??

Interesting. Do you know how much she had to pay total? Did she accept all the prizes, and do you have to?

Peace,
