My friend had a 3.0 P4 Prescott, an 865 based motherboard (I think it was an MSI but I forgot the model number), 1Gb of ram (half generic), a generic power supply, 6600gt.. He was considering (and later bought) a DFI Nforce 4 board, AMD 64 3000+ Venice (I think), IIRC he has the same ram and same video card, got a thermaltake tsunami case w/PSU and eventually a 6800GT.
While his latest system is great Iguess, I just couldn't understand WHY he had to upgrade to a completely new system when his current one was fine. I told him to Get a better PSU for his older system, a better video card and if the ram is bad, replace it as well. But instead he bought all that crap, so now I'm wondering, was it right of me to b!tch at him for this pointless (IMO) upgrade?
