My friend sends all of us friends an email for "board game night"

Here is what the email says:

------------------------------
Hey what's up my friends. This email is to let you all know that I'm
having a board game night at my house this friday round 8 pm. They are
really fun times and free. I like to have an even number of people. Do
you think yall can make it?
------------------------------

Does it make me an a$@hole to find this funny. BTW, we're all 23-25 years old. He's an awesome friend but come on, this is MADNESS!

I'd totally go. It's so hard to get people for games but when you do, it's a freaking blast.

BTW: Why do you find this funny? 😕

It may not sound like the coolest thing to do...but we've done it a few times in college when we had nothing else to do. It is surprisingly fun...add some alcohol and its even more fun.

NO!!! THIS....IS....SPARTAAAAAAAAAAAA!

Any girls gonna be there? i have friends who are girls that organize these sort of nights and they're pretty fun. If it was an all-guy thing though, it's probably a gay trap as "skyscraper" probably found out too late.

To be honest I'd be thinking WTF if I got an email like that. I don't think any of my friends are the board game type...

I do. It's much better to let people know a few hours before it's supposed to happen, then you can act all self-righteous and pissed off when everyone says they have plans already. You can rake them over the coals of guilt for the next several days!

My married friends do game night, so it ends up being mostly couples. I usually make an appearance then skip out early since I have no mortgage, kids etc... to blab about.

A good game to drink while playing is called Apples to Apples

Inspector Fowler: "Drugs. Drugs. What is wrong with young people today, with their uppers, downers, poppers, toppers, speed, whizz, crack, junk, smack, splosh, zing, bonk, barf, wham-bam? Can't they amuse themselves without chemical stimulation? Haven't they heard of Monopoly?"

Inspector Habib: "I suppose they're just not as boring... I mean, as sensible as you were, Sir. They're looking for something more exciting."

Inspector Fowler: "Exciting? Have you ever had hotels on Mayfair and Park Lane? You can make a fortune!"

It may sound nerdy, but it's actually pretty damn fun. Add some alcohol or roll one up (your avatar tells me you'd enjoy that) and see what happens 🙂.

maybe it depends on how old you are... when my friends and I were all in high school or college, yeah. nothing really got planned in advance.

but now that we've all got full-time jobs, significant others, pets, families, whatever, my friends and I always plan stuff out ahead.

We do board game night every few months. We always host at our house and usually have 3 - 4 other couples. If more people I knew played video games I'd be more happy about game night but this is fine too. We talk, drink and play some games.
