I have to say that Apple's iPod/iPhone connection to PC philosophy is stupid. My friend has a new computer but is afraid to connect her iPhone to her computer because she does not want to lose everything on it. Is it possible for her to transfer her files, data to the new computer safely? BTW, she does not have the old computer anymore. Thanks in advance.

You should be able to use YamiPod to transfer the files from the iPhone to the new system.

However, if nothing else then she can connect it to the computer as many times as she likes and simply tell it to NOT do anything. It will still charge (and if the iTunes account is correct) transfer the apps (don't quote me on that).

When I had an Ipod Touch (got rid of it a few months ago), I remember being able to right click on the device and tell it to transfer licenses, or something to that effect inside iTunes when I switched computers.

I'm sure if it's still an option, or if it even applies, but it might be worth checking out.

Do you mean the sync thing? I hate that too. It doesn't ask before erasing everything. There is an option to manualy do eveuthinh, hurried in there somewhere.
