He has become addicted to the numbers I think.

He sends me screenshots like this

DDR at 478 2500 Barton with water cooling
DDR at 499 1700 XP with water cooling

Good enough? not for him. He then shows up and has me do a voltage mod to go even higher. I have not heard back if he got it working yet but I imagine I'll have more screenshots if he does.

EDIT: Major Mistakes fixed

Hmm His english is very "second language" so getting info right from him is hard but he says it says that because of the overclock and it does that on other cpu's he has tried. Anyone else can confirm that?

I've had it do that to mine before but they had to be the same exact mhz/ghz as the listed chip. For example I ran my 2400+ at 2600+ speeds and it reported my chip as a 2600+ but if I bumped it +1 mhz it reported it as an unknown chip. I don't know why his would report a 2400+ if it wasn't running at 2.0 Ghz though? That doesn't make much sense.

Its not photoshop. Anyone in Columbus want to come buy and see his system run can. I'm sure he will be more than willing to show it off. Watercooling has helped his FSB speeds a ton.

He told me he wasn't really impressed with the Barton core and sent it back to his friend in Taiwan. No idea why he wasn't.

I asked him what ram he used and he sent me this pic Link I know when I did the mod on his board it was either crucial or corsair ram (really shiny heatspreader with almost a hologram on it? can't find any pics like it on either site) EDIT: it was corsair 3200 but he likes that atada stuff better. LIke I said, he changes parts like underwear.

I asked him to send me a camera pic of his screen showing the high FSB and he sends me this *L* PIC Like I said..he is nuts. I think he has been dropping ice into his water resevoir to get the real high FSB though, that would make more sence EDIT Yeap..thats what he did. He loves the numbers :) He says he normally runs it at 220FSB stable. Still pretty impressive.

How can you be disappointed with the performance of a Barton chip at 2750 MHz? The performance must be unreal!
