My friend just got a warning letter from Universal Studios..

So she got this warning letter from the university to tell her to stop downloading and delete the files, and an attached letter from Universal Studios giving all the usual warnings and threats.

The thing is, I haven't heard of anyone getting caught downloading via bittorrent yet.. is RIAA/MPAA turning the heat on bittorrent users???
 
Oh nooooooooooes! I knew they were cracking down on some of the major sites, but that's the first I've heard about individual users. 🙁

bittorrent has no protection from riaa/mpaa, try something else. it is not surprise that they are targetting BT, you just can't believe how easy to see who's getting what from there.

Anime/Fansubs are illegal. It doesn't make a difference if it isn't licensed in your country.
 
heres an idea. stop stealing or even better if you steal dont complain when the companies you steal from get angry.

yep. many people don't realize that fansubs are every bit as illegal as downloading licensed anime. it's just that almost all/most anime companies turn a blindeye to fansubs as it helps generate overseas/non japan interest in the series which can lead to licensing, which equals money for them. 🙂
