My friend just bought an 06 Tacoma quad cab...

...and he wants me to go with him tomorrow to buy a set of these and a 5 inch liftkit. It's not 4WD, and we live in Los Angeles. 😕 I'm pretty sure he is not taking it anywhere off the road since it's only a week old and he's babying it.

What do I tell him? 🙁

It's not 4WD, but does it have a limited-slip diff? He could still drive offroad with 2WD and a LSD, but it doesn't sound like he will. What a waste.
