It works.

When you get a cold or sinus infection, stuff just stays in your head. Eventually, you have a lining of old dried up mucus in your passages.

The first time I did it, I did it every day for a week. Then I hocked up the loogie of death that had been dried up in my head for years. I felt a heck of a lot better.

I only do it periodically now, just to avoid build up.

Me either, I thought that only happened to coke heads who dissolved the tissue in their nose with repeated snortings.

My wife uses those sometimes (allergies, colds). It always disgusted me. Definitely no sex for her afterwards. :p

There's this big hole in your head called your sinuses.

An easier and more effective method is to use a baby breather bulb (the kind used in medice) and use a warm salt water solution. Shove the nozzle up one nostril, tilt head to the side and flush you sinues out forcefully.

It's wonderful.

I used to use this. I don't know if it helped a lot with resolving allergies, but I did feel it provided temporary and a refreshing relief.

It looks kind of funny, but it's actually pretty cool when you get it right.

I'm going to try one, it was on TV.

I'm suspicious though, why all this media attention on Neti pots?

lol, is this the saline spray? Most nose sprays are just salt water, rinsing out the mucous makes stuffy noses go away. :)

I think just distilled or mineral water. It?s like an enema for your sinus.

Your friend looks like a lesbian with that hair cut. Tell me I am wrong. lol

Oh, and you can buy attatchments for some waterpick brands that do the same thing.

Never heard of a netti pot though. Why not call it a Rhino pot or a Sino pot or a Naso pot or a Nasoflush or something more identifying of wtf it is.

LOL, when I take a shower I snort the hot water to clear out my sinuses and it works okay. Why not while your getting soaked already.

I'm sure it works for colds/allergies, but buildup over years sounds suspiciously like the bogus claims made by colonics believers.

Did this remind anyone of that scene from Crocodile Dundee? The cocaine/hot water/steam/towel? Hahaha.

I've snorted warm salt water up from a bowl a few times. Pretty much the same thing, without the weird pot. I gross myself out while doing it, but it does indeed make me feel refreshed and more able to breathe.

There's a big difference between breathing steam and actually having liquid flow. The warm salt water cleans you out better. Seeing as I have a cold right now I may do it again soon.

when I had an enlarged adanoid that blocked my 80% of my sinus passage........... I was getting major sinus & ear infections. I had to "wash" my sinus everyday. Worked great until I could get my surgery to get my adanoids out :)

Cheers,
Aquaman

I do this on occasion. In fact, I feel like I would benefit from it right now.
