I'll use the fictional username Dark4ng3l so that he can't be recognized.

Anyways, he received a coffee basket of some sort from a girl he knows but he hides it in his closet so that his parents can't see it. I don't understand. Is he shy to admit to his parents that he likes coffee? Is he shy to admit that he received a gift from a girl?

Help me ATOT!

No but he's really really weird. We think he might be a bit insane.

more likely its the fact that he got it from a girl. he may be uncomfortable having it be known to his parents that a girl likes him (even though she may not, i dont know the circumstances). personally, i'm always reluctant to have my parents meet girls, or discuss my girlfriends with them because of the way the act towards me (very childish).

meh, the 'rents would give me grief about it for about 10 seconds, then they'd drop. I think it'd be easier to take it than to hide the bloody coffee.

That's strange.

Perhaps he's embarassed to have gotten a gift from this girl? Maybe she's really ugly/fat or something and he doesn't want people to know that he actually is friends with her?

I think I might have done something similiar.... Back in my Sophmore year of high school.

No he's just shy to tell his parents.

Sneek into his room sometime when he's not around, take the coffee away, and leave a note from his parents. :)

I mean how old are you guys? If you're 16 and living at home it's still weird, but a lot less weird than if he's 22 living on his own and hides it in the closet in case mommy decides to stop by...

Maybe his parents are overly-patriotic and he's embarrased it's French Vanilla and not 'Freedom' Vanilla?
