My friend has terminal lung cancer

I just found out today that his lung cancer is terminal. He was undergoing treatment but it appears he was diagnosed too late. He is 50 years old, married and has 2 kids. He is a very nice man and I feel so sad for his family. Not sure how long he has left. I am afraid to ask. So instead I will cherish each time I get to see him. At least it is not a sudden death; he has time to put his affairs in order and to provide for his family after he is gone. He also will treasure each day he spends with them too.

I will pass on any further updates on his condition. I am still hoping for the best.

🙁

Hope he has the Will to live. If he has the Will to fight out he'll hang out. Pretty Sad though !!

that is too bad.

personally, in my grandmother's case. in hindsight; i wouldve preferred the death to have been sudden, not a 2 year battle. that way she wouldnt have been in a hospital bed and in excruciating pain for 20 out of the last 24 months of her life.

im sorry for your friend though.
its never easy, hang in there.

sad to hear... 🙁

(i've lost 2 grandparents to leukemia and another is fighting leukemia right now, one more beat breast cancer)

dude dont tell your life insurace people that...

🙁 I'm sorry, best wishes to him and his family in this time.
God, I hate cancer. MIs and Cancer have killed everyone in my family.

Life is short man... spend all the time you can with your loved ones, b/c someday they might not be there... I feel for your friend Iron.

That is just horrible news. I prey for a miracle for him. Make sure he doesn't give up the fight. Worse comes to worse at least he has kids to succeed him.

Its either cancer, heart disease, car accidents....etc. Sorry to sound like a Mr.Cliché but its the circle of life.

Ive had some relatives die from cancer. right now i work in radiation therapy, where we treat brain cancer patients every day. *sniff* i tried to write something but i got teary and coudlnt say it.

Sorry to hear. My grandmother is in the same boat with lung cancer. We were told she could go any day now. 🙁

Been through this with both a friend and a close cousin and both of them wanted nothing more than to see their friends and family as much as possible in the time they had left. I know the times I spent with them are probably the most memorable times in my life. Kind of my own personal "Tuesdays With Morrie". Something about the dynamics of a friendship that goes to a whole new level in that situation. Cherish the time that is left.

🙁 My Condolences 🙁

My grandpa died because of lung cancer 🙁

I hope the best for his family and friends.

X.

sorry. I just got back.

yes he smokes, as does his wife.

well then he was asking for cancer then wasnt he. i hope his and his wifes habits havent caused the two kids to develop cancer though.

Smokers know the risk every time they put that cigarette into their mouthes. I hope the kids will not suffer from their habits.
