If you look at both not overclocked, then yeah, the quad is a much better deal, however look at the overclocking potential in both.
Sorry B3's dont stack up. And a Good E8400 would own any quad in almost anything it did.
What do you need the quad for?

If it's 3.7 @ stock voltage....aftermarket HSF should get you to 4.0, in the 1.2-1.3v range. After that it'd be a crap shoot, varying wildly between chips.
