Hes actually a pretty cool guy, and hes not doing this to impress anyone. Hes just messing with me, and i want to know how hes doing it.

As far as the squid thing...he can handle the bike pretty well, but im still afraid hes going to end up all over the road someday. He went 146 with a girl on the back for god's sakes...102 when I was on it. Never been so scared in my life.

More than likely it was something like a spark plug at the tail pipe that was igniting the exhaust fumes. If it WAS nitrous, there would be an obvious increase in speed when he hit that little switch.

He didnt do it while he was riding, he just had it in neutral, would rev up, then flip that switch, and a flame would shoot out his exhaust
There are many things he could have done, but just using nitrous would not do that.

And if you can't see a bottle, then there's no bottle. Simple as that.

The blue flame is very hot... My guess is that to sustain a blue flame you friend would have to have fuel injected into the exhaust stream (similar to an afterburner). Normal exhaust can be flamable, but I doubt the engine could be made to run rich enough for a steady blue flame and still be functioning. That's just my guess, though.

And as for nitrous, this case is indeed NOES, just not NOS ;)

In the pic it looks exactly like that's what it is.

You say he's not trying to impress anyone but he goes 146 w/ a chick on the back. Faster than he goes w/ you on the back. He's obviously trying to impress someone. That being said, I want a bike just so I can go 146:) Yes, I know it's stupid but I also know I'm not likely to let anyone ride with me because I know I'm reckless as hell already in a car and I'd be pushing things in a motorcycle. If I were to let anyone ride on the back 1. it woudln't be a dude and 2. I would ride very very safely

He should get a swift kick to the head by endangering the girls life going 146.

Btw: NOS makes an octane boositng fuel additive, that he might be running because of an agressive spark advance or something. It has nothing to do with the flame though.

146 is fast, but not all that for a sport bike. If it is in good mechanical condition (tires too) and the road empty and in good shape, it is operating well within design specs. I wouldn't do it with a passenger, but solo, it really isn't that bad.
