Even though Phelps lacked the spine to stand up for himself and proclaim his right to smoke pot I think a nationwide boycott of Kellogg's products is in order.
After reading the article I noticed Kelloggs' is not renewing Phelps' contract because his behavior"is not consistent with the image of Kellogg.'' I wonder if they are referring to his pot-smoking or his childess apology of which he owes noone. Perhaps I was too quick to condemn Kellogg's.
my buddy ran into phelps and his "posse" in vegas late last fall (after the olympics). they said he was going crazy from club to club with girls all over him. none of what is happening now can possibly suprise anyone. a kid like that is gonna do all this stuff and more after winning 8 golds, he just got caught.

Oh and people telling him to get a spine and stick up for himself, he has sponsors and stuff and he more then likely wants to keep them which is why he didn't say so what I smoke pot.
I don't think he was a hypocrite, but I do believe it was disingenuous just saying what his PR agency told him to say, not believing a word of it.

OK Here is another snippet from his last email:

Bottom line: Everyone's sorry when they get caught. Yeah, he's the world champion but he's still a jackass. There have been plenty of world champion jackasses before him and there will be plenty more after. It comes with that, "I'm the fucking world champ, bitch!" mentality. He didn't think he was going to get caught, plain and simple. Just like Geithner, Daschle, Killifer, et al. They're always fucking contrite when they're in front of 20 microphones at a press conference."

He really isn't a twat. He is a good friend of mine, and this time I was surprised he took this stance. Another friend backed him up and started to second guess my judgment. So I was looking for a larger sample... to make sure I don't sound like a crazy MJ pro.
My final email to my friend was:
"Well. The guy used to live and train in Ann Arbor, and most people that know him personally speak highly of him. People partied with him all over town here and never did I hear he was that type of person "I am Micheal Fucking Phelps".... I really don't think he is a jackass, but money does strange things to Sister Theresa ...lol
