My forums move SO SLOW!

The forums have been horrible the last few weeks. I have an extremely good connection at home (and at work, but don't tell my boss 😉), and I have to reload pages 2 or three times to get it to display. And, even when it does load, it almost ALWAYS has to be stopped in order to let another page load (I usually search in GH and OT at the same time) because it doesn't load fully. I don't know if it's the banners that don't fully load or if it's just a small graphic somewhere on the page, but it's horribly annoying.

AT is starting to become like ESPN.com: so many graphics, it takes forever to load on ANY machine.

All that being said, can I subscribe or pay something to get faster access. I'd be happy to do that.

I had the same problem for awhile but it seems to have gone away within the last couple of weeks.


BTW, they got rid of subscriptions.

I just clicked on my forums it took 3 tenths of a second...How is that slow?

I'm at home now, and I have a 3Mbit connection. I can load ANY page I go to in a couple of seconds, but when I come here, I click on a page and I wait. I just went to Windows' update site and d/l'd at ~180k/sec. Still I'm waiting when I go from page to page. And when I say "wait," I mean I'm waiting AT LEAST 10 seconds, and as much as a minute.

I'm sorry, but with this connection, that's SLOW!

Use your 'net connection - not the 'direct' one. 😛

It seems eXtra slow for me also this past week (even though other sites seem 'normal')

Why don't you try doing a tracert to forums.anandtech.com and post the results, instead of randomly complaining about the speed of the forums when others (including myself) have no problems whatsoever?

I have no problems with load time at all, either from my 3Mbit connection at home or my 1Mbit connection at work. Try clearing your browser cache. Run Adaware and Spybot. Maybe you have spy/ad software clogging things up?

Working fine for me, can't say I've thought about how long it takes to load pages exactly, but that's saying something in itself 🙂

Guys, this isnt our issue server speeds are all well under a second, network is healthy. I tested this from two different connections (for the sarcastic comments about speed I'm on DSL like any other normal broadband user). It has to be routes somewhere forums are loading fine, and havent had any issues for ages.

On a more serious note, I'm surfing from Sweden, so I'm thinking it should be slower for me than someone sitting in the US.

I've been having a lot of JRun errors if that counts as slowness. 🙂
