"My Forums" and Mozilla

Many of us Mozilla users like to open stuff up in tabs with a middle click. Your use of "onclick=blahblahblah" prevents the "my forums" button from being opened in a new tab. That's annoying. Is there some advantage to the new HTML?
 
There's no href= in the <a> tag on the buttons, which, is, uh.. dumb, unless there's some reason I don't know about. You can have a proper link *plus* the javascript stuff, and you get the best of both worlds.
