A7V133 and other m/b's that have a Fasttrak 100 raid chip from Promise and try to install xp or 2000 to the raid 0 drive.
I have been trying to get Win xp to install for 3 days now. Finaly got it.
Setup could not find the raid 0 drive. Drivers on a floppy with the f6 key didn't help.
Read on another forum (don't remember where. visited several today) that someone had luck by pulling out his SB Live sound card and enabling the onboard sound of his A7V133. I first thought how would that matter. I was willing to try anything.
Pulled the card and changed the audio jumpers. Then went into bios and enabled onboard sound. Turned on all settings but FM.
Rebooted to win ME and put the xp cd in. After the reboot I pressed f6 when asked and picked the win 2000 driver. Everything went great. Got a warning about the driver not being Windows certified. Went ahead and used it.
Hope this can be of help out there.
Can anyone give reasons why the sound card interfered with the raid controller?
