I met this great girl in Stats class up at my Uni. We've been hanging out a bit, but we're definitely not involved yet.

I'm in pre-pharmacy school, and she's pre-med, so that fits right together. We also both (fvck it, I was trying to couch this tactfully) use drugs; pot, opiates, benzos, psychedelics. (Neither of us are addicts, I just thought that was pertinent.) We both sort of have the attitude that we'll try anything once, with enough research of course. Anyway, onto whats progressed so far...

We screw off in Stats all the time, cause you really only need to do about 1/4 of the in class assignments to get the material, and last Tuesday we hung out on campus for almost 5 hours after class doing whatnot. Near the end of that day, she said I'd have to come over some time and smoke with, cause it had come up that I hadn't lit up in months.

We have stats Tues/Thurs, and I was planning on setting something up this past Thursday for this weekend, but she wasn't in class, incidentally some one also stole my cell that day, along with her number. I was able to retrieve it via my call records online, and am borrowing good ol' dad's phone for the time being. The problem is, she won't answer when I call, or call me back.

I called on Friday, and got no answer, so I decided to text her, and let her know who it was, in case she just wasn't answering the unknown number. As I was writing the text, she called me back, but something got fvcked up, and she couldn't hear anything I was saying.

I decided it best not to pester her with calls, as that might just make me look like a fvcking tard. So I've only called three times since then, twice yesterday and once today.

I just was basically looking for ya'll's input on whether or not she's ignoring me, or just has no idea who's calling her...

I just read an article in pop sci about software they are building to detect lies and scams online. The software is based on studies that show when a person is lying or scamming they tend to be more verbose, and people who are being lied to, even if they don't realize it, tend to use short responses.

It may seem unrelated but it's not, I assure you!

She's "busy". And since you likely didn't make any moves or show any real affection on her she doesn't yet fill obligated to make an effort in getting a hold of you.

Calling a girl twice in one day makes you seem desperate. Plus a text message.........umm yea. I do understand that your cellphone is gone and one call to her letting her know is more than enough. Any more than that makes you seem desperate, and women can tell when a guy is desperate and take advantage of him.

Thats what I was hoping to avoid, I'm sorta new on the whole dating scene, but I've taken the advice of many on this forum, and have just started talking to girls left and right, to become comfortable with it.

I'm gonna leave it for now, and just talk to her this Tuesday. We'll see how it goes from there. Who knows, maybe she just didn't get my calls.

Dating scene? First - don't get ahead of yourself. You still don't even know if she's attracted to you.

Second, don't believe in that "coming off too strong" crap. Because some people take that too deeply then become stand-offish. Looking desperate is people in a club grinding on each other shooting down jelly shots with girls that have more STD's than Pam Anderson.

Be yourself. Don't be afraid of rejection because that is a reality to all men and women. Not just a hand picked few. If you try to play it "cool" then you'll give her a reason why not to like you. Worst thing girls hate and people in general hate, are childish games.

Considering your major and hers, you both seem like well motivated people wanting to enter adulthood with a good start. So do yourself a favor - keep in mind there are other girls - and just go for it. Go with the flow. If she rejects you, then don't put blame on yourself because it's wont be.
