Guys,

I am moving, and thus will be forced to relocate my computer into my bedroom. So i'm looking for a quite way to cool my processor cause my current 7k rpm fan sounds like a mini-tornado. On top of that I want to dabble in OC'ing so I'm thinking of using a water cooler...

Currently I have a 1.33 Tbird and this thing idles at about 55C and gets up to 62 or 63C...this is without any overclocking...
in a month or two i'll get the 2.4C on an Abit IS7 and i'll definately want to OC that to 3+ GHz...

so, as of right now I know next to nothing about water cooling, and i'm trying to find threads where people recommend setups....

I found this at MicroCenter...is it any good?

http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0158770

if it's not worth getting, what parts do I need, and what do you recommend I get?

no no no, you need to get the whole swiftech water cooled peltiers and half inch hosing, and a pump and rad that take up half your case.. :p

ive actually seen that little watercooler up and running at a local compstore, it seemed to be alright, but i dunno if thats what you want..

no don't get that... an SLK-800 with a big quiet fan will probably even outperform that thing.

FAQ on watercooling if you want to DIY. If you want a prebuilt one... the EXOS or the Hydrocool 200 scored pretty well... but both are around $200. :( DIY kits will more than likely outperform pre built kits but will also be a bigger hassle.

Here is another thread that tells you which specific parts you're going to need. If you don't have that much space in your case... you can always custom rig your own external WC unit... sorta like this... and just put the parts in there. Good luck. :D

smoking711, first, a water cooled system will take up more space so a new case might be in order (supposing you want the water cooling system to be inside your case). Second, if you do get one, make sure it uses 1/2 internal diameter hosing. Third, use a radiator with a 120mm fan (skip the radiators that use 80mm). Lastly, check Dangerden.com (for some really good water blocks), and cooltechnica.com for other items. Frozencpu.com and Criticool.com are also good sources for watercooling stuff. SVC.com is a good place for fans and such (I recommend CoolerMaster fans, get the ones with LED's Bling Bling!) If you have more detailed questions, please email me @ stevennoland0146@msn.com . I can email you some pics of my soon to be water cooled rig.
