Wow, I was depressed to realize how badly I had gotten out of shape. Sure I lift weights and do some basic cardio at the gym on the machines. I did some reading on HIIT this weekend and decided to give it a shot.

Doing it after leg night at the gym didnt help much, but damn I couldnt even run full intensity for more than 1 minute. 2 minute rest run for 1 more minute at full intensity. After 20 minutes I was ready to call 911.

After seeing how I feel tomorrow I will maybe try again tomorrow. I hope to see results quickly. :D

doing it after doing a leg workout probably didn't help too much ;) I'm sure if your legs were fresh you wouldn't feel so melancholy.

here's a brief synopsis:
jog 30 seconds, sprint 30 seconds, repeat until 5 minutes. this is equal to about 30 minutes of regular jogging, and burns fat better.

i don't know how you sprint for a minute. I always did my HIITin 30 second intervals. Minute is way too long for me.

sprinint for a minute is roughly equivalent to sprinting a quarter-mile; which is a bit long. I think I'd usually do 200s (30s) as well.

you work your way up to it. you start off with 30 second intervals and increase the interval length as you progress.

Back in my rugby days, I got in sufficient shape that I could do that indefinitely. a 30 second jog was enough to fully catch my breath from a 30 second sprint. Pretty sure that I would have an aneurysm on the second sprint now... :(
