My First Time

I just want to ask someone who has experience in selling stuff thru ebay
I have just sold my computer and related items thru ebay, the winner of the stuff
contacted me thru email saying would like to come pick it up herself/himself...
I just want to know what things should I be aware?
😛😎

Ask him to bring cash, and meet in a netural location like a Mall.

I've sold my DVD collection on eBay about a year ago to pay off some bills, was $800 and the buyer picked it up in person. No problem, he paid in cash, we met at a local store during the day, he inspected the disks, I counted the cash, we both walked away happy.

well, I personally wouldn't bother having someone to pick up the stuff. Dunno what kind of crap he comes up with or if he doesn't like the condition of the merchandise.

If they want to write you a personal check and take your computer at the same time, refuse.

In fact, notify beforehand that you will need to either wait for the personal check to clear or they will have to pay with money order or cash. But, check their feedback. If they have no negatives and 10 or more positives, then you can trust them a little more than a "joe no feedback".

Also, make sure someone is at home with you.. you know, just in case.

Oh, it's not nice to charge for shipping when they come to pick it up. 😉

He/she/it mite have a gun...so watch out 😛...eh I suggest to have them do payment thru paypal or something, i wouldnt want to take big payments in cash just to be safe. Ur lucky, on my last 3 auctions the stupid bidders didnt pay up, and their contact info was all fake, even though they all had more then 5+'s grr....

Thanks for everyone's advice

Know what im planning to do..im gonna pick a crowded place like infront of a mall of something day time..
will go with a freind and.. must be cash..i will remind the buyer about that before that day

so sounds alright?
if I don't see enough cash...he/she for sure won't be able to walk away with my stuff.....
Im kind of excited..cuz i didn't really plan to sell my computer..i was only testing to see if i really do get a response back..
i even forgot about the auction i put on ebay..until an hour ago i got back home and was checking my hotmails 🙂
wowow.....i have lots to think.. i will have to decide what to buy soon.. I mean a new computer

Personally I wouldn't take even a money order in person. Too easy to fake those and no recourse if it isn't any good.

Cash or no deal, people should be up for that if the deal is in person.

Depends on the amount. For a $20 item I'll just ship it and not worry about it, won't kill me either way.

For a computer, I want to be sure. 🙂

I would never, ever do this at home.

LOL!

That's overkill, if someone wants to find you they can. The idea is you just want to be in a public place because it gives everyone that warm fuzzy feeling.

I've done a few other deals in person, a radar detector and a laser printer that I got from work, both went off just fine.

The truth is, anyone actually willing to meet you in a public place in the middle of the day is probably a straight up person who isn't going to be a PITA about it. 😀
