im a bit iffy about the ram still, one of my friends told me to use kingmax pc3700 but the specs on the mobo say it supports DDR 400/333/266 and the pc3700 is larger then ddr400, im confused about which one to buy

DDR400/PC3200 is what's officially supported. Only go higher than PC3200 if you intend to overclock the CPU.

Ok, you got a few problems here.

#1. Get the retail 3000+ with the stock fan. You're wasting too much on that thermaltake. You should spend that on a nicer case which I'll get to soon.

#2. Dump the 120MM TT fan...also related to case.

#3. Dump your case. It's just not looking that great. Bad airflow (check out the fangrill! Can you say noise?) and a generic PSU. With shipping you're spending close to $50 on that junker.

I'd suggest this Antec. It's free shipping and comes with a 120MM fan stock. So, with the changes I've suggested, it's actually cheaper that the config you have now. Don't be fooled into thinking that other case will deliver 400W of power. Quality over quanity.

#4. Save yourself $7 and go with this Mushkin RAM. It will perform just as good.

Oh, and are you getting a videocard?

EDIT: Whoops, wrong case link, sorry.

I'm not seeing any clawhammer 3000+ on newegg. Perhaps you're looking at the mobile DTR version?

I have a clawhammer 3000+, I think...

Back then by some it was presumed that the unannounced release of the 3000+ was from a supply of processors aimed @ 3200+ specifications that didn't meet standards for full use of it's cache. Therefore half of the L2 cache was disabled and later badged as a 3000+.
