Hello Everyone.
I just bought DM3 - 1048la Slightly Used
The Specs are:

C2D Intel UC7300 1.3Ghz
3Gb Ram
320Gb HDD
Intell 4500 Integrated Graphics

The Condition of the Notebook is just like new....
I bought it for 377 US$

So My Question is.... Is my purchase good for the bucks?
I wanted a small, portable with good battery laptop.
This seemed nice to me.
Comment.

Hello waqarhassanpk, and welcome to AnandTech Forums.

I don't know how it compares in your location (quick search turned up the notebook as an HP model made for Latin America markets). For here, I would not have gotten it, but would have paid a little bit more for a new notebook using a Sandy Bridge CPU of some kind. For instance Dell offers a Vostro V131 model for an everyday price of $499. That is brand new with 1 year warranty, with a Sandy Bridge based ULV Celeron. The battery life should be great, plus it will easily outperform your old notebook for both CPU and graphics. Of course you paid $123 less...

There are even cheaper notebooks, but the one I pointed out is a thin/light model like yours.

Here in Pakistan, the Dell vostro is not available.
Infact the laptops we have here are pretty much expensive than Europe US or UK....
So considering this.... Is this a overall bad Purchase.
Besides....
Intell 4500 Integrated Graphics can perform 1080 output with charm?

I don't know what your local prices and availability is like. You converted the money to $USD and I gave you my thoughts based on availability in the USA. The Intel GMA 4500 can output your Windows/Linux desktop to 1080p but I don't know if it will accelerate HD video at those resolutions. It may depend on the bit rate in question.

Nice of you helping me with this 🙂
Can you also guide me through the overclocking procedures for 4500 or su7300? For my particular model?
