My first pagefile question

On my 1366 the pagefile I use is a 1024 by 6144MB on a ssd which seems to work well for me.

What the best pagefile for my Z-68 with 16GB of ram.
1) ssd pagefile size of 1024-4096MB.
2) a fixed ramdisk pagefile of 4mb.
3) something better
I know many people say no paging is the best when your using much ram.
I still believe in a small minium size page just incase its needed..

With that much memory I would put a small pagefile on the SSD for kernel dumps and then a larger, system managed pagefile on the bigger hard disk. You gain virtually nothing by wasting time trying to tweak things like that.

Set the minimum to 16MB or 512MB and set the max size to whatever it recommends. You may not need a page file, but some programs specifically look for it. With this method, it will increase above the minimum when required and will reset IIRC on reboot.

how on earth did you get windows running with only 16MB of ram? 😀

Fixed the mb to Gb took to long to catch that one thanks.

I missed out on the ddr2 and and after win 7 the ddr2 price went up.
Now at $39 I couldnt pass it up.
Untill recently the z68 had minimum of 500mb on the ssd.

Thanks all
I will put a 512-1024 fixed on the ssd and the rest on the spinde drive.
