Hi friends, Its been awhile.. I built my first rig just about a year ago. I've been playing with the OC feature with my AI suite II. Ok i have i5 3570k with Asus Maximus v gene. I played around for a few hours and this is what i came up with... Its a quad core 3.4ghz cpu i have it at 1.085 v and 4.2 ghz. Now my question I did some prime95 In-place Large FFT's(maximum heat, power consumption and some ram tested) <<< No clue..lol.... OK>>> My core temps were around 83c and my CPU was 63c generally. does this sound bout right?
surfing web/forums and music and such is bout 39c(havent played games yet)
So the real question is.. is my core temps normal? 20c higher than cpu?

Thank you
Ken

Yes, that sounds fine. Low-to-mid 80s is fairly common for IVB overclocking.:) And that 20C gap is also normal; the "CPU" value is pretty much rubbish anyhow.
