i just overlock my p4 2.8 um 50 mhz! lol. i am running on Asus P4C800-E with lastest bios using Corsair XMS 1024LL 2x512mb dual channel mode at 2-3-3-6, 4 (what is burst speed?) (the timing is rating at 2-3-2-6 i believe), CPU temp - 27C/82 F . Mobo temp - 35C/95F. AGP/PCI bus lock at 66/33. memory ratio 5:4. legacy usb - disable, onboard sound - disable.

what else should i do to overclock this 2.8 to 3.4-3.5 ghz? any tips? thanks.

Are you sure about those temps? I highly doubt that your MB is running 8 degrees hotter than your CPU :). You think you have the two switched around? Even so, those are really nice temps!

I've OC'd that same MB/CPU combo before for a friend. You should have no problem getting considerably higher than that on stock cooling.

I couldn't tell from your post if you meant that the system wasn't stable at < 2.85 GHz. If it is, it might be your RAM holding you back (although it looks like nice stuff). You should try raising the timings to the slowest possible and then lowering them again once you've achieved the best OC possible. Nice setup, I hope you have good luck!

i think the Asus Probe shows temperature 10 degrees lower than actual. I'm using a Thermaltake Spark 7 (it's noisy!, gonna get a swiftech with panaflow 92mm or thermalright sp94 with panaflow). yeah i'm test overclocking, it's stable at (14*205 fsb) 2870 lol. thanks, i wanna reach 3.3-3-4ghz on air cooling.
