I'm thinking about buy this
what do u guys think?
this is cheapest P4 2ghz note book I could find
mainly for school works, maybe light games

Sony canada

any comment are welcome 🙂

1. I definitely would've chosen a higher resolution screen, SXGA at the very least (1400x1050).
2. 512MB of RAM would be preferrable.
3. It's a little large/heavy for carrying around all the time, I think.
4. I believe that the battery life on those is pretty poor.

Otherwise a nice laptop, IMO. I had the GRX670.

They have the GRZ610 at most Best Buy and Circuit City stores. The screen is very very nice. You are aware that the notebook uses a desktop CPU though right? And with that, the fan gets rather loud, even more so than the Dell Latitude C640's/840's we use in our office. Other than that, it's a nice notebook, and oh-so-very-stylish to boot.

I dunno if you're dead set on getting a sony, but you might want to check out www.powernotebooks.com

This model is pretty close to what you were looking to get, but cheaper and faster: PowerPro IV

These guys have an excellent reputation for customer service and support, as well. I would personally go for a lighter (and slower) laptop myself, and use a desktop for games, but if this will be your primary computer (and space a concern) you can probably find something good for you at powernotebooks.

Edit: I just noticed you're in Canada. I don't know if powernotebooks ships to Canada (and duty might be a concern) but you can always e-mail them to see if they can do it. Also, you might know somebody in the US that would be willing to get the notebook shipped to them, then have them send it to you.
