My first LCD...brightness/backlight issue?

Hey guys,

When i first moved in my house in Feb 07', i picked up a Toshiba 37" HDTV Ready (37HLC56) monitor fairly cheap at the time from Sears. Never really had a problem with it and it had a decent picture via HD Cable and the PS3. Last year i upgraded to a Sharp 42" and i gave it to my parents. I recently went over to their house and noticed that the right side of the screen is brighter than the left. I turned the backlight and brightness all the way down and its still brighter on the right side. Is there any way to correct this? Maybe in the service menu?

how many backlights does that TV have? Sounds like one (some) went out. Time for a new TV if it is out of warranty.
