My First Lan Party

I just came back from my first lan party; it was in Minooka, IL. About 50 people, and all day long. I arrived a day early and camped with the guys there. It was awesome!
The event's organized by a gaming community called Redthor. I got to know them through my brother.
We got so lucky that BF2 demo was released the day before the event, so we spent alot of time playing that game, and it's a great game!
There were tournaments on CSS, UT2K4, CoD, and other games. It was really fun. We won some gadgets such as a corsair double-screwdriver, a case, a t-shirt, fan grills, etc...
Anyway, I just wanted to share my feelings on my first lan party, and I encourage those of you who didn't try it to go and try one, it's not just about gaming, you meet many new people, talk about different things, and see many different experiences.

Well that's what people say, but it's not like I am spending my whole life in Lan parties. And as I said, it's not just about gaming.

its for added interaction between nerds. and you can actually check on some n00blet if they seem to be haxoring 😀

I might want to goto one of those some day..
 
Guys, I have to ask you to shut up if you wanna talk about nerdiness, because a lan partier is nowhere near the nerdiness of a lifer who lives on internet forums instead of talking to real people.

Just had one Friday night here... We played Rise of nations... started around 7pm got done around 4-5 am... Since I throw one regularly... every 2 weeks or so.. they tend to be a little short... none of these weekend long ones anymore.. 🙁
