Hey guys, I'm going to my job fair tomorrow and I was wondering if any of you had advice. What should I expect when I talk to the employers? In the meantime, I learn how to tie a tie.

1) Be confident
2) research about the companies participating in the fair
3) ask intelligent questions about the company you are interested in
4) tell them how your skills can contribute to the company/position

1. Have some resumes handy (although many will say "go online to submit resume")

2. Dress in a presentable manner - You don't necessarily have to wear a suit, many do, but at least shirt/tie to look professional.

3. If it's anything like the expos I went to (UT austin), there's going to be tons of people, long lines, and tons of freebies. Be prepared to be very tired.

4. Try to research the companies ahead of time so you know a little bit about them. Try to go early as well as towards the end, most of the recruiters will have heard the same stuff over and over again.

5. Good luck! I hated the expos...such a waste of time for me :(

Those fairs will be a chance for you to get your foot in the door. The company people may usually be "screeners". (not always)

If possible evesdrop as much as possible prior to talking to some.

As an intern, you need to sell your potential to them.
Having some recommendations from school profs in your desired field(s) will help.
