The cellular structures that contain genetic information are called:

alleles
genes
chromosomes
heritable units

WTF alleles alt genes, genes carry genetic info, and so do chromosomes. I think this prof is not sure what answer he's looking for.

All of them except heritable units satisfy the question. I'm going to answer chromosomes, but any ideas if that fits the question best, or one of the other answers?

edit: actually I want to answer genes, but that's too obvious..

edit2:

Can some physical traits be dominant, while others are recessive?

only during a mutation
sometimes
no
yes

WTF kind of college class is this? I learned this shit in grade school...

The first one is chromosomes. The others are not cellular structures.

That's what I thought. Half the questions on this make me think I'm back in middle school, and the other half are

Thanks for the reply though :)

ah I get it now. Actual physical structures in the cells.

yes

That one is really screwed up. I can come up with some traits that fit into each catagory

Yeah that's about how all the questions are worded. Most are straight out of the book, like direct copypasta. Others make zero sense and I've been guessing heh. This is fucking ridiculous.

edit: another question: "What is continental drift?" haha. Did some people seriously not learn this stuff before they got to college?

Uhhh wtf. Ok so one question was 'where is the fertile crescent'

Obviously it's in the Middle East. Yet the correct answer is 'southwest Asia'

They are the same place, but Middle East is more descriptive and allows one to mentally position the location more easily

God Damn this prof is either dumb or just copying his questions from somewhere else...

Yeah several of his answers are just plain wrong heh I think he's running off an old book for his answers.
