My first gripe with Ameritech!!

my DSL is finally acting flaky after 2 months of good usage. It looks like thei rDNS server is messed, sice i cant visit most sites. hotmail.com, half.com, altavista.com, and a few others just wont work.

I had Ameritech DSL back in Chicago and it was awful. Ameritech has to hire the most inept group of techs available. Dont even bother calling support you will wait a minimum of 30mins for help and then they will say there is nothing they can do. One time they told me there was nothing they could do and I said "So basically I am screwed and stuck with lousy service" and the person had the nerve to say yes. They have there good and bad stretches though. They will go for a few months with being perfect then a week of terrible service. My suggestion is let you contract end and try to find something better if you can. The one thing I can say though is they were more reliable then my Ethernet here at school, now this is a joke i would love to have DSL back even though its slower overall.

I live in Chicago and I hate ameritech.
The way they set up my phone line, I could only get DSL through them.
Surprisingly though, the service started the day after they promised and although it is a little slow in the evening, it otherwise has been pretty good, D/L speeds about 700kbs.
But i still think their CSRs are the rudest ones in the world.

Try using Charter. I've been constantly getting 0.02K download for the past two months. I tried calling them and what do they have to say each time?? "We're going to rewire the whole area"


Charter = SUCKS.
