Working on an Inwin Q500N. So far I've swapped blue led for power and white led for my drives (one for IDE, one for SCSI). Also starting to wrap up all my cables with expandable sleeving and heat shrink. I'll post some pics when I get my cam back. Only problem I ran into was that I was too busy oogling at the white led's, and I knocked my soldering iron over. Didn't even notice until I smelled something burning, looked down, and saw that I had melted a good chunk of carpet away. Any ideas on how to fix it? My landlord will not be pleased. My gf will be very unpleased. I'm in deep $h1t, can anyone help?

try and find a chunk of carpet that is the same color, cut out a square where fvck it up, and use some carpet tape and put the new peice in. if the carpet is a shag, longer material, it should blend in very nicely. I've never done it on the shorter carpet but I'm almost positive that it would look better than a burn hole. hope that helps!

Or you could always ask a pro to fix it, he will do the back of the closet trick most likely.

It's not shaggy carpet, the stuff is really short so I dunno. The burnt part is shaped like my soldering iron, looks kinda like a 3 inch gash. At first I was thinking about just getting a needle and thread and sewing the carpet up. Would that work?

I have no idea. But I do have a utility knife now, going to do some carpet hacking tonight.
