Try the Corsair HX620W. Modular, made by the same OEM (Seasonic), and less money.

Better to hold off until we know how much power your going to need for SLi DX10. Right now they're saying 800W for highend DX10 SLi, but with the way rails are distributed it's more like 1KW unless you have a single rail PSU. Like I said, better to just wait.

I also wanted to know if it's worth waiting for the P5N32-SLI Premium/WiFi-AP nForce 590 SLI or stay with ASUS P5N32-SLI SE Deluxe nForce4 SLI X16.

Seasonic is a Tier 1 manufacturer for PSUs, they make their own. I would consider them high end.

Still a month away, but you might consider holding off for the G80 to hit shelves. All signs point towards a November 8th hard release, but who really knows? I know how it is buying parts, though, it's very hard to wait.

Then by your reasoning he shouldn't be buying a Silencer, eh?

Unless you're sure you want the front panel connections, you might want to just go for the X-Fi Xtreme Music. What are you hooking up to it?

The Silencer is made by Seasonic, just as the Corsair is. Same quality, only the Corsair is cheaper, has a longer warrantee, has modular cabling, and has plenty of power (even for SLi). Have something to backup your original statement yet?

What are you, the new PSU warrior?

OP asked for a recommendation, I gave one. And I stand behind it.

We can also look at this in a more accurate way...

Many PSU's are "rebadged:, all Rosewill PSU's are an example.

Seasonic also builds for several brands, from Antec which varie in quality from PSU to PSU. Then we have PC P&C which is excellent and also built by Seasonic.

Win-Tech builds for Ultra "ok" status to PCP&C Turbo-Cool which is great!

These are all custom designs, built to the customers specs.

Now Rosewill, A-Open, etc are pure "rebadge", ie: no changes at all other than the label.

PC P&C's PSU's are built under contract to PC P&C's specs.

If I were a billionare & hired Ford to built a line of 1000HP Lincoln's for me, they would not be available at a Ford or Lincoln dealer, but only at my lots.

That is not "rebadging" that is custom design! ;)

nuff said!!

With early speculation saying it will beat out a current CF setup or SLI setup.

Your telling him to throw money away!

IMO,
Intel core 2 duo e6600 and overclock it. $317.00
Asus P5w DH Deluxe motherboard - $270.00
Corsair Twin 2x2048-pc2-8500C5 Ram- $369.00 You can increase it to 4GB if that's your call.
Nvidia 8800GTS video card when it comes out in a month or so- $450.00
PC Power & Cooling Turbo-Cool 1KW - $490.00

What you pick for case/hdds/optical drive/monitor/etc.
That's your call. I like Lian-Li, but ...................:)

I want to have a motherboard that supports SLI. I dont mind buying a 8800GTX/GTS because i want to wait at least the second generation of nvidia DX10 video cards to see if power consuption or size of the cards gets down. (Sorry for my bad English).

I think your set up looks sweet. I wouldn't change a thing. Except the case, but that's a personal preference.

I wont debate PC P&C quality. Its well known. But for less money you can get nearly as good if not as good. Personally, I think PC P&C is gonna price themselves out of the market if they dont change. Other manufacturers have learned how to do as good for less now. PC P&C does customizing work though but any professional modding is expensive and not for the masses due to high cost.
