My first ATI card - a 5850

So I upgraded from the 9800gt to the ATI HIS 5850. Problem is now Fraps won't show up in BFBC2 or Dirt2. Fraps worked fine with the 9800gt. Dirt2 has a benchmark in it but does BFBC2? How do I find out the framerate in BFBC2 with an ATI card?

hm idk fraps worked fine for me and I JUST switched from a 9800gt to my 4850.

There is no benchmark for BFBC2 from what I've seen.

hmm maybe there's something wrong with my fraps then. I'll download the latest one and see if that works. Soccerball are you using the 10.2 catalyst drivers? perhaps we have different drivers because we have different cards, and maybe it's a conflict with the driver?

Trident, it looks smoother than my old 9800gt, but I'm getting screen tearing even though I changed vsync to on. Gonna go try some different settings now.

I've noticed that even though I have vsync on.. It's not actually on. The FPS goes above 60 in game and stays around 60 at the main menu. Massive wtf?

I have a 5850 and I just installed FRAPs yesterday. It works just fine. Maybe you need to get an updated version of FRAPS?

Yeah vsync doesn't seem to work at all in bfbc2. As for Fraps, yeah I downloaded the new one and it works great. Weird cause the old one worked fine till I switched to the new 5850. I wonder if there is a way to force vsync on in the drivers? Gonna go look. This is my first time with ATI drivers.

I think its because only the newer one supports directx11.
