my firewall just detected a port scan attack. what to do?

ran visual trace on the attacker and i have his info....webpage, location, phone#. i mean i dunno if im overreacting. is a port scan attack something serious and follow up with to make sure he doesnt do it again...or should i just let it go?
 
Clearly, the only solution is to immediately unplug your computer and mail it to me for a complete diagnosis.

Sorry just wanted to see what you was up to with your new high falutin firewall and all that. I been scannin you for days and then today I was like man dude got a firewall, ain't that a bitch! I'm just scannin everyone looking for an avi of the latest chapelle show I can't find that dang link anywheres!

I hate it when people look at their firewall logs if they don't really understand them....
It's the stuff your firewall CAN'T tell you about that you need to worry about.
