Whenever I click on a link that is supposed to pop-up a window, it is a certain fixed size. And that size is always wrong. Some program or site set a certain fixed window size into my browser and it can't seem to get out of it. For example:

If you go to a shopping site and click on ZOOM for a product and it pops up a window, that window is set to certain size to fit into the design element and what they are trying to show you. Usually the width of the pictures. Or if you click on New Topic or Reply or PM on ATOT, it's a certain size.

In my case, it doesn't matter what the size *should* be. Firefox displays every window the same height and width. In fact, as I am typing this now, there are scroll bars at the bottom of the screen because the width is the wrong size. It's cutting off the highlight button.

How can I fix this?

this happened a lot with popup blocker software I had until I found the more elite software (programmed) versions

reinstall uninstall or disable?

these programs mess with your registry settings and attempt to force a standard that Windows may find hard to recognize or an interface result that the user may not like

check all your settings or try doing a system restore to earlier settings if you can

it sounds like there is a bug involved?

Those are javascript triggered window which can be resized to your setting. I dont' have the code on hand but you can search for it at firefox help forum.
Also, you can disable "move or resize existing window" javascript option in the options panel (all popup windows will be maximized).

Thanks for the help Doh! but that's sort of besides the point, isn't it? I am not going to right click, copy likn location, paste into browser bar, edit the windows size parameters and HOPE I get the right numbers, then press enter. The window sizes are important because, after all, the page designers set them to a specific size on purpose. I'd like to know how to fix the bug.

You misunderstood what I've said. You don't have to input the window size script everytime. The setting is set in your profile so that it's done everytime a popup javascript window comes up. I believe it's done in userchrome.css in your profile/chrome folder. If you think it's a bug, file it at bugzilla (it may have been filed already).

I tried disabling move/resize as you said and it made no difference. I am not quite sure how to make the other change you are talking about. I tried finding it in about:config to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.
