My fiancee just denied me an xbox360.

So, my fiancee's mom calls her today and asks if I would like an XBox360. At home I currently have a PS2 and play it ALOT as well as a lot of PC gaming. My fiancee then proceeds to tell her mom that it's a lot of cash and I'm pretty entertained with the stuff I already have. WTF?!?

She then told me about this conversation and I told her that she was nuts and should have let her buy it. Now I'm gonna end up with a bunch of weird stuff from her...<sigh>. I know I shouldn't complain, but it just kinda sucks.

My fiance offered to call her mom back and say to get the 360, but I would feel bad. If it was a surprise gift and she wanted to spend that much, that is one thing. If my fiancee calls her now and says that she should get it (and I know about it), I feel like it's me asking her to spend that money.

BTW - She was gonna buy a $500 bundle at Costco.

Can't win them all. Just let it go and have fun with what you have. For now..... 🙂

Have her call mother back and say she heard from one of your friends you really want one and have her tell mother to just get whatever she wants.

If your fiancee is worth anything, she'll call her mom back and have her get you the xbox, so that it's actually a surprise when you get it.

That would still technically be me approving her mom to spend $500 on me and make me feel like I'm asking for her to do it.

As I said above, if she did this on her own and it was a surprise and I could do all the "oh, I can't accept this, it costs too much" talk and then let her talk me into keeping it - that is one thing. However, anything now will be me basically asking for it no matter how it is disguised and I would feel bad.

But then you could have her watch you chainsaw kill somebody in Gears of War and feel a lot better.

Be a man and buy your own damn Xbox. You're not a child anymore.

Um...this is for Christmas. I'm spending about $200 on her.

Also, I would have bought my own already, but I've been paying off some debt and just now getting it completely paid off.

Where are the spelling Nazis?

Fiance -> Man a woman is going to marry
Fiancee -> Woman a man is going to marry

BTW, I bet you are going to get a 'surprise' Xbox 360 for Xmas. If you don't, call off the engagement.

pics of fiancee? I'm surprised no one has asked yet... (unless they were previously posted and I missed it)
