My feelings about Ps3 and GT5p

I bought my Ps3 on 6/6/08 ansd it came with a free copy of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue.

A little introduction first,i was a pc gamer and enjoyed playing games on the pc but i was tired off the fact that you had to upgrade your system every two years and then various other problems occured (can't seem to explain it very well, hope you understand it,ok will try), for example you are playing call of duty 4 are badly hurt and running to cover while the terrorists are shooting you and suddenly phtoosh! out of the way the game minimises and we are on the desktop with an annoying popup (ststing many things such as antivirus has updated successfully , ****.exe was prevented from accessing the internet(can't get any good examples)).

So, i decided to buy a console and was confused so posted a couple of threads in these forums, the first one was about which system should i take a ps3 or and xbox 360,
and the second one was that,is Ps3's hardware inferior or not(For which i was accused of trolling and many other things ).

Based on the response of you lovely people out there i bought a Ps3 and am very happy to say the least.

As said earlier i got a free copy of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue with it,so say the least before buying a Ps3 i hated all simluation games(tried RACE and il-2 sturmovik(air-warfare) but ahted both of them and promised to never buy a simulation game again in my life but as i was getting Gt5p free so i couldn't go wrong.

To say the least, i loved this game and i most probably would have hated it if i had played it on my pc.(Reason below)

The graphics are amazing and if you leave the damage ,the game is almost life-like, i kinda liked the way you could adjust the amount of acceleration and turning(unlike pc where it is either on or off)and thus it created a more life-like feel and hence i loved it even more.I loved the game and have broken my aforementioned prominse and decided to buy GT5 whenever it is released.

I also noted many people commenting that it was a sort of paid-demo ,but if you got the prologue out of your mind it seemed to me a complete game.

Now,for the lovely system.

This was my first console after the NES and i loved it,it looks uber-cool and performs even better.

The game required an install of ~10 minutes but that didn't bother me as i simply waited for that time by looking at the beauty i played the game for about 2 hours but then i had to go to sleep. The next day i played Gt5p and after about half an hour the controller was fully charged and i continued playing sitting anywhere in the room.Since then have been playing like mad.

I also have a few queries :-

1), How long does the battery last.I have played for around 10 hours and the controller's battery is showing full charge.
2).Is there any way to quit the game apart from pressing the PS button.

Also,i am not much of a racer and my best time on the daytona oval was 47.753 seconds with the ford gt90.(It's the best car i have || Hope it isn't bad).

These were my feeling about Ps3 and Gt5p.

Sorry for the long post, normally my posts are one paragraph long but here i don't know how it became so long.

Feel free to reply.

The reason people say GT5 : P is like paying for a demo is because the number of cars and tracks in the full version will dwarf the Prologue game. It's not really like a demo, it's just somewhere between a demo and a full game. Whether it's close enough to a full game to justify paying 2/3 of the price of a full game is up to the customer.

NiMh batteries don't have a steady voltage drop as they discharge like alkaline batteries do. They stay at 1.2v for most of the life of the battery, then drop off quickly at the end. So charge indicators aren't very accurate with NiMh batteries.

What way to quit the game other than pressing the PS button would you need? You can turn the system off entirely by holding the power button until it beeps.

The batteries in the controller are lithium ion. a random google says 45 hours of playtime which sounds somewhere in the area. i bought multiple controllers for warhawk, when the controller im using dies(and that takes like months because i hardly play) i just grab another one and pick right up since lithium ions have a very slow self-discharge rate.

You really missed out on alot of GT then. I am comnig from GT2, GT3, GT4 and I similar to you bought a PS3 which came with GT5p

Great series. I'll admit I have been pretty bored with the Prologue mostly because of few tracks, but I can't wait til the full version.

the problem with IL-2, RACE, FSX,GTR, and other sim games, is that you need sometype of controller, whether it be a gamepad, joystick, or steering wheel to enjoy the game. You really can't play it with mouse and keyboard.

I love playing flight sim games... and I think I would've hated them too if I stuck to the keyboard.

I think this game is quite fun and can't wait to see what the full version offers us. Graphics are unbelievable and the handling seems like it should. The only problem I have now is that I'm only one trophy from completing the A-Class races, but that one race requires the Ferrari, which I only have about $50,000 in the bank (cost of the Ferrari is somewhere in the $230,000 range). I haven't felt like grinding through the same races over and over to build up the nest egg required to purchase the Ferrari.

I really wish you could sell your cars for more--the depreciation is staggering! No matter what car you try to sell, it seems like there's no way you're going to sell it for more than $10,000.

If its anything like the previous games cars are sold at 1/4 the purchase price/value

It didn't take me long at all to make the money for a Ferrari

Im done the C B A events with at least bronze in everything right now
