I ordered three things from overstock.com. Like newegg, they use multiple shippers, so two of the packages were sent by USPS and one was sent by fedex. I sent them to my work address which is in an office suite.

I received both of the USPS packages and the fedex package was due to arrive on the same day. If I look at the tracking info for the fedex package it says that it was delivered last night at 6:33pm and was "given to the customer".

My co-worker was in the office up until 7 and they said no one delivered a pacakage. Also, the main doors of the office building LOCK at 6 and you require a key card to gain access. There was no package left outside or anywhere that I can see.

My question is, what can I do? Do I contact fedex or overstock.com? It looks like overstock.com may have shipped it without asking for a signature.. but on the other hand I don't see how fedex could of devliered it when the doors were locked, and even if someone opened the door for them my co-worker was here and did not receive the package.

Is there any particular "department" that I have to contact at fedex. Their phone menu doesn't really have anything to report this type of problem.

Either way, it looks like im going to be screwed out of this package since signature wasn't requried. Either that, or I will have to go through months of bull sh!t to get my money back which isn't worth the trouble. But I will still call them and see what can be done.

I had a similar experience with USPS and an amazon marketplace sale. Bought a textbook that was said to be delivered to my door on a day that i was there, even spoke with the mail carrier and he said that yes he puts all packages at our door and not out in the open (didnt recall that particular package of course). After a month of going back and forth with the seller, amazon and the postal service, i finally was issued a refund from Amazon via there a-z guarantee.

I was home during the "delivery time" and would not have missed the package on any possible level, so something happened somewhere in between the time it was delivered and i got it. I never got the package and the seller claimed to ship the package, so I dont see how either of us should have been out the $90, Amazon stepped up and took care of it.

Good luck

Hit 0. They will ask for a tracking number.

It is always a good idea to send a package to a friend/relative's place when they are always available.

btw, I had a package stolen from the FedEx truck a couple weeks back. I am STILL having to go through the ringer to get a refund (I was the shipper and it was insured). I have now had to send in three different sets of paperwork (some of which they already had). Lesson learned: FedEx blows.

I don't know why people even mess with fedex/ups on this kind of stuff. You have zero pull with them. Let the company that shipped the package to you deal with them. If they won't, do a chargeback on the order.

FedEx is still better than UPS.

Why are you even trying to call Fedex? You think they care? You didn't pay Fedex the shipper did. Contact the shipper. Tell the shipper the situation. It may be a royal pain in the ass, but you can always in the end file a claim with your credit card company to get your money back.

You actually do contact Fedex, then they contact the shipper. That's how the process works. I worked at a shipping place for 2 years.

If I called you about a missing package that your company sent to me, and you blew me off and told me to call fedex I'd do a chargeback on you and just buy it from somewhere else.

Ok, well I went online and filed a lost package claim with fedex. We'll see what they say.

Overstock.com apparently doesn't have the greatest customer service, so it may be a pain if
I have to deal with them.

My wife had a package "stolen" that UPS claimed to have delivered.

For three weeks she fought with UPS and the company that shipped it.

Finally she got her money back from the company she bought the item from.

About a month after that...I found the package stuffed between the screen door and the side door of our house. LOL

We rarely use the side door... maybe 3-4 time a year.

Why the UPS driver didn't note that he put it in the side door, or why he didn't remember putting it there... who knows.

Overstock is being run by a mad man, what do you expect.

good news. The fedex guy just came to my office and had the package with him. Apparently he delivered it to the building across the street by accident and just realized it today :D
