Hmm.. I have the queen sized version of that bed with the exact slats. How long after you bought it did this happen? I want to anticipate this.

What exactly did you think the strip of plastic was going to do?

what it's been doing for the last year and a half: helping hold the slats in place

but it's not like I wiggle around. sometimes all I do is just lean on that side, and the stupid thing collapses. No idea why.

I love that you are hiding the hobbit book under your bed.

Does it have some hot elf porn in it to deserve a spot like that? ;)

This is what happens when your parents didn't buy you LEGO growing up.

I've never had an IKEA construction set break on me like me.

PS. I spy a copy of hobbit porn underneath the bed. That's hot.

I had a shit ton of legos, just not sure what that has to do with this bed being able to defy the laws of physics.

lol, I had slat problems myself years ago, and it got to the point that I only had three functional ones remaining. At some point one of them snapped, and from that point I've just been using a second mattress on the bottom in their stead. I actually have forgotten what it was even like to have bed slats.

This happened to my sons bed. Simple fix was to add a 1x6 down the centre and screw it all together, with the centre slats eing screwed into the frame. Now it`s solid and much stronger, you could easily triple the weight load without issue.

thing is, all of the slats are in one piece--they're not caved in, it's just when you leap into bed from a certain angle, or even just roll in bed, or try to leave the bed from a certain angle, the arrangement caves in, for no apparent reason!

is there some kind of scientific explanation?

By defy the laws of physics do you mean hold up this long? That's a horribad design.

my theory is that the mattress + my weight is flexing the slats, and since two of them are broken off the cable, they slide, and as they slide, the rest fall off as well.

thats all I can think of, because tbh, they're all resting perpendicularly on the metal rests.
