my favorite photo so far

got home and the moon was out tonight. figured i'd mess around and take a few pics. the sky was still blue when i took this. i'm not 100% sure how i got it this way, bu i love it.
this is my favorite photo that i've taken so far.

Moon

done with a 70-300mm lens.

i'm eventually gonna try to get this puppy hooked up to one of my telescopes and then we'll really have some fun!

the stars weren't out then.

i think what happened was that it was set to iso 200 and there wasn't enough light for it to pick up anything but the moon? in my other pics when it was set to auto, you saw a white ball with blue sky.

moon is brighter than the stars, so if you want a good pic of the moon the stars won't show up. If you get the stars to show up you have a bright white spot instead of the moon.

Ever mess with stuff such as aperture, shutter speed, etc?

exactly why conspiracy theorists have no backing when attempting to debunk the lunar landing by stating there were never any stars in any of the exposures
sry, not attempting to hijack thread, thought it was relavent 😀

btw, nice shot of the moon. now do the same thing when its a full moon 😉
