My fathers buisness wants to expand to the internet

The internet is killing his business, 10 years ago, he made 4x his annual income.

He owns a local Adult video store (movies only) Located In Sunrise FL.

Hes been there for twenty-six years.

He was not always an All adult video store, he was mostly a Regular Movie store, with a small back if the store for adults only, but about 10 years ago, he just could not compete with Hollywood video/blockbuster, so he decided to go ALL ADULT.

He wants to expand on the internet but doesent know how it would work.

I am not into website design/creating so i can not help him, what would your advice be?

I already told him that the internet is already overpopulated with porn, but hes really out of ideas, the video store just is not what it was 10 years ago.

I would think adding toys would be a better move than going online selling the same thing hundreds of other companies are already doing.

There not much options left. I bet people would rather buy porn and sex toys online to save the embarrassment of going to a store for it.

To me it seems like the adult video store business is getting bigger now. I always hear radio commercials about Adult Video Megaplex.

Ya dude, what is he going to do to differentitate himself from the thousands of porn websites out there in cyberspace? Just because you put up a website doesn't mean you're going to make any money at it.

I would maybe try to find a better location for his store and spiff it up on the inside? The trend seems to be to make porn shops into nice retail spaces instead of seedy corner shops. I've been in one of these places and it was a big difference from the "adult video stores" you see in the wrong part of town.

well, hes been in the same place for 26 years, hes not looking to move, you know older folks, their set in their ways :/

I've never been to a porn store or a strip club but it seems increasingly that it is becoming a "couples" thing. Maybe play on that angle somehow and expand the store.
